Remarkably Bright Creatures is a tender small-town drama where an unlikely octopus connection gives way to a heartfelt story about grief, family and the generations that carry us forward.

The Instigators doesn’t exactly break new ground, and its ending feels a bit rushed, but it compensates with impressive car chases and some intriguing political commentary on heroism and the armed forces.
